Social & Community » Game Day
Our second annual FREE!! game day is Saturday, February 6, from 2-4 p.m. in the Parker-Damon Cafeteria. Come play great games, stock up your game closet, and support McCarthy-Towne.
Bring your family and friends and try out demo games by Gamewright, like Rat-a-Tat-Cat, Slamwich, Sleeping Queens, Ka-Ching, and Luck of the Draw. You can play as many games as you have time for! We’ve got games for all ages, from preschool to adult. If you fall in love with a game, you can buy a copy to take home (most sell for less than $12), and Gamewright will give 50% of the price to McCarthy-Towne. Games make great gifts and are a fun way to enjoy cold and stormy days (think February vacation!). There will also be teacher wish lists if you want to purchase games for your child’s classroom.
There’s no cost for admission, and you can extend the invitation to other friends and families in the community—the more the merrier. Parents must attend with their children, however; this is NOT a drop-off event.
We will need volunteers to help with setup, cleanup, and game sales—plus, we need Game Gurus to help families quickly learn the rules of the game! If you’re interested, please contact Sarah or Tracey.
Hospitality: We are also looking for some individual baked goods (nothing too messy, we don’t want to ruin the sample games - no fudgy brownies or frosting) and small water bottles for the bake sale. If you would like to provide a baked good for this event, please contact Lynne and let me know what you would like to bring so we have a nice variety to offer.
